Sign Language Interpreters
Book qualified sign language interpreters across the UK
What are sign language interpreters?
A BSL interpreter — a British Sign Language interpreter — translates between spoken English and BSL so that deaf and hearing people can communicate on equal terms. All of our BSL interpreters are NRCPD registered, and we list both fully qualified interpreters and trainees (TSLIs) where a trainee is appropriate for the booking. You can book a BSL interpreter face to face for meetings, medical appointments and events, or arrange remote video interpreting (VRI) when attending in person is not practical.
Where our sign language interpreters work
The sign language interpreters on EasyTerp cover a wide range of settings, so you can book the right support for the occasion
Medical & healthcare appointments
From GP check-ups and dental visits to hospital consultations and mental health assessments, a BSL interpreter ensures deaf patients can understand their care and give informed consent. Our NRCPD registered interpreters attend face to face at surgeries, clinics and hospitals across the UK, and remote video interpreting (VRI) can be arranged when attending in person is not practical.
Legal & police
Accuracy matters most in legal settings, where every word must be conveyed faithfully. Book a qualified NRCPD registered BSL interpreter for police interviews, solicitor consultations, court hearings and tribunals — a fully qualified interpreter, rather than a trainee (TSLI), is typically required for these bookings.
Employment & workplace
Whether it is a job interview, an induction, a team meeting or an appraisal, a BSL interpreter keeps deaf employees fully involved at work. Many workplace bookings are funded through the government’s Access to Work scheme, and both qualified interpreters and trainees (TSLIs) can be appropriate depending on the setting.
Education & training
British Sign Language interpreters support deaf students in schools, colleges, universities and vocational courses, working face to face alongside teachers and lecturers. Shorter sessions, such as parents’ evenings, open days and one-off training workshops, are equally well suited to face-to-face or remote video interpreting.
Events, conferences & performances
Conferences, festivals, theatre performances and community events become accessible when a BSL interpreter interprets from the stage or alongside speakers. Larger events may call for a team of interpreters working in rotation, and remote video interpreting (VRI) covers online and hybrid events too.
Remote / video interpreting (VRI)
Video remote interpreting (VRI) connects you with a qualified or trainee BSL interpreter over a secure video link, with no travel required. It is a practical option for short appointments, urgent bookings and online meetings, and it widens the pool of NRCPD registered interpreters available to you wherever you are in the UK.
